Vancouver International Wine Festival (22 Feb-01 Mar)
The Vancouver wine festival is Canada’s premier food and wine event. Tickets cost around $85 and the proceeds go to the Bard on the Beach Theatre Society. This event welcomes over 10,000 visitors a year and is a must-see if you are visiting Canada next month.
The Festival of The Year at Caribana Toronto (July 30-Sunday 2 August)
With its roots in1967, the Caribana Toronto has grown significantly to become one of Canada’s most popular events. Going from three days to a full out three-week celebration, Caribana sets Toronto alight each year through a celebration of Caribbean heritage. This year, the main celebration takes place from Thursday 30 July to Sunday 2 August. It comprises a multitude of events, parties, and cruises.
OVO Fest (1 August)
For a two-birds-with-one-stone situation, you’d be pleased to know that superstar Drake's OVO fest takes place on the same weekend as Caribana Toronto. Drake is one of the most acclaimed artists in current day hip hop and R&B, and OVO Fest’s sold-out venue is a reflection of that every year since 2010. This year, the event takes place on 1 August at Budweiser stage in Toronto and is priced at $200 and up.
Celtic Colours International Festival (9-17 October)
Cape Breton is home to the nine-day celebration that is the Celtic Colours International Festival. The festival positions itself as a culmination of arts, music, and culture and welcomes many new visitors each year. This year, the festival takes place from 9 to 17 October. The festival is rooted in community, reflected in the various workshops and collaborative dinners held around the time of the festival.
Art Toronto Fair
Art Toronto will enter its 20th year this year and is a fair consisting of modern art. Most notably, the fair presents art from both Canadian and International artists, so it's only fitting that this blending of culture and celebration of diversity takes place in the cultural capital of Canada. The fair is an interactive event, consisting of panels, lectures, and discussions.
